Gayties Music honors the queer artists who made the 1980s in America unforgettable and defined a generation. From Boy George to George Michael and Joan Jett to Tracy Chapman, many of the biggest hits from the decade were written and recorded by members of the LGBTQIA+ community. These artists not only created iconic music but also paved the way for future generations of queer musicians. Their contributions to the music industry are invaluable, and their courage in living authentically continues to inspire.
