These are stories of visibility, resilience, joy, struggle, and what it means to live openly and authentically in Tulsa. Artist Bio Liz Cousins (she/her) has worked as a professional photographer in the Tulsa area for over two decades. Working in a mix of digital and film, she believes that photography is a way to record current culture for future historic preservation. Years before she found the ability to publicly join it, she began documenting Tulsa’s queer community as a way to support it . Her portrait work documents alternative lifestyles, performers, and those who live larger than life. Liz sells her art and photography as well as vintage wares in the Tulsa area under the brand Retrospective, and her day job involves working to support independent local artists in the Tulsa area.
