SUPERVISOR: Deputy Director
STATUS: Part Time/Non-Exempt
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Onsite/Office
JOB PURPOSE: The part-time Events Coordinator will provide oversight and marketing for outside rental groups and the Lynn Riggs Theatre. They will be focused on creating a space that is welcoming as well as creating a vital performance space and revenue source for Oklahomans for Equality. They will make necessary decisions as needed with input from supervisor.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Required:
● High School Diploma or GED
● Friendly, outgoing, able to use good judgment and solve problems
● Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
• 2+ years of marketing and customer service experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or ASL)
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facility Rentals and Scheduling
• Work with outside groups using OKEQ facilities including the Lynn Riggs Theater (LRT) and the Bruce Goff Event Center and all other spaces in the Equality Center
• Maintain up-to-date event calendar
• Complete rental agreements and arrange for adequate technical support for outside rentals
• Work with bar manager in coordinating bar needs for outside rentals
• Arrange for technical maintenance such as piano tuning or other repairs as needed
• Support planning, scheduling, delivery, and evaluation of performances and programs in the LRT including the “Rainbow Room” series.
• Assist and help manage other events throughout the Center including performances and performers
• Arrange or work with OkEq volunteer coordinator to provide needed help where appropriate for events
Marketing
• Work with the LRT Advisory Council, the OKEQ staff, and the Communications committee to effectively market rental opportunities of the Lynn Riggs Theater and the OKEQ event center
• Work with renting organizations in advertising their programs, events and productions.
• Work with OKEQ marketing staff to establish a theater specific email list
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• High level of concentration and aptitude for learning wide variety of program information and new computer applications
• Ability to lift and move 20 lbs on a regular basis
• Ability to stand or sit and maintain alertness for several hours at a time
• Ability to speak distinctly and to communicate with customers and staff on the phone or in person
• Patience to deal with 5 or more people at the same time
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills for dealing with daily issues in a variety of situations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
